........ allowed the Canon SX50 to get a shot of the waxing, nearly full moon. The mountain ranges on the western side are clearly defined.

...... the optical quality from this little camera may not be up to the standard of an astronomical big boy but it allows the likes of myself a half decent study of the moon on clear nights from inside the backyard.
