......digital zoom test.
Threw some chicken onto the shed roof and got the camera ready together with the Olympus 40-150 lens. Set the in-camera digital zoom to " on " and waited for the expected flock of shitehawks to arrive ....... it took about twenty seconds.
Had to decrease the zoom to 116mm to get the whole herring gull into the frame.

.... Processed with the app. Snapseed/details. Not a bad result. There is some noise at 3X digital zoom.
Of course all this seems a waste of time when the same result can be had by cropping the normal sized image during post processing! "There's always the morn"
