Set off to Newbiggin this morning in the hope of a decent dawn which turned out to produce a featureless sky. Took a few shots on the rocks before sunrise and when risen above the horizon decided to have a coffee from the flask enyoying the warmth of the liquid together with the radiance from the bright golden orb, noticed the little group of clouds forming just above it then got back behind the camera and waited until the right moment to open the shutter.

Thanks to Dave for the GUA, and to everyone who took time to look, vote and comment.

Thats a real nice exposure Dave .

What lifts this from the crowd is how you held the sun back with your patience and didn't end up with a big blobby starbust of light from the big ap.

Nice harmonies in the pastels as well !
