Dungeness - Planks and Rivets.

By Dave87
Hi to all.

The recent kidnapping of Moira and Bill (EPZís Woolybills) by some of the Kent photographers went according to plan and by the time it had been noticed they had been stashed away at a secret hideout in the country not far from Dungeness with memorable sunsets viewed from the veranda looking across the Marsh to Rye throughout the hot sunny days that followed.

With the Romney Marsh and Dungeness known for itís history of smuggling and fishing it was no surprise that part of the next day (Sunday) was spent in the Pilot Pub at Dungeness with fellow epz members eating, drinking, and enjoying each others company for the first time for many - the idea of the day. Some of us stayed on for an hour of photography on the beach at Dungeness afterwards and these are a couple from me.

The visit by Moira and Bill to our little part of the world (Kent) was something I will remember and know the same for all the other smashing people who spent time with Bill and Moira throughout the week and on the Sunday. Like all good things they come to an end and we had to give them back - but we are all hoping they will return to visit us again in the future.

Thanks for looking.

Dave.

Yes Dave,I kidnapped Moira and Bill recently at Carlisle, but as the hostage negotiations dragged out too long inside the pub, there was no time to partake in that nonsense of actually taking some pics !! I like your low take of the boat here, but after a session in the pub,it is quite understandable to fall flat on your face and accidentally press the shutter release while struggling to get up !! I wish I had been there and seen this boat.A handy place to climb inside for a little kip to sober up !!

Two absolute crackers. V1 is classic, and very graceful; but V2 is the star for me because it creates a fabulous picture out of the very mundane. The human eye working as well as the lens! Deserves its own upload.
It was indeed a memorable day. My first upload coming up soon.

Great to see you uploading again, Dave. Quality will always come to the fore; it merely needs a little rest from time to time. These are superb - RX435 almost resembles a Viking ship from the angle you have selected.

Thanks for instigating a wonderful week. Once the blindfold was removed and I grew accustomed to the lunar landscape of Dungeness beach I realised just what a photographer's paradise lay before me; once the cuffs were off I even managed a few shots myself Grin
I have masses to process but will choose a couple from that same day to upload tomorrow.

Regards
Bill

Happy to see an image from you again - finally! Hope there will be more Dave.
V1 is a cracker, very special composition, and I like it a lot. LIke Bill, however, v2 is my favorite. These days I seem to be finding daily things like this to make images out of. After all, one should be able to make a decent image out of anything, and you've definitely managed that with your special vision.

Thanks Adam. Just send a PM before your next visit down here. It will be great to go out taking pictures together, meet some of the fishermen and visit some of the best places to take pictures around the Dungeness area. A warm welcome always awaits those who come to spend time with us in these parts.
