Thanks for dropping in. I believe in composition over colour and camera over computer. I also believe that the only rule of thirds is that there is no rule of thirds. I also believe that if you set out to take your version of somebody else's composition, you will never experience the true thrill of landscape photography.

Superb image, Martin. The light is lovely but the tree makes it what it is.

  • The Quiraing in Winter

This is another one where the large version really brings it to life. Captures the stark beauty of the area perfectly. A brilliant image.

Thank you Alan, Bill and Gill for your kind comments.
You're right, Bill, it certainly was well worth the walk. The funny thing is, whilst walking up to the moor, I was composing a letter in my head to the local paper about the heather burning on the moor, getting more and more wound-up. Then when I reached the top, all that was gone in an instant, replaced by a sense of deep joy.
    Thanks again,

Thank you Alan, Mary and Alexa for your kind comments. I'm sorry I was so tardy in responding, it really has been a busy few days since I joined ePz - my solitary pastime is suddenly not so.

  • Bramham International Horse Trials - Claire Boumphrey on Swynnerton

Thank you Lucy, Phil, Jane, Chaz, Chas and Penny.

This really was the first time I had ever photographed any sporting event aside from the odd local cricket match and I was stunned by how the images turned out. I certainly look at horses in a different way now. Penny, I didn't think my Photoshop skills were up to removing the offending person convincingly but, I joined EPZ to learn, so any help or tips would be gratefully received. Thanks again, one and all
