Winter's Toll

By DaveMead
And it sure has been a cold, cold winter,
And the wind it ain't been blowing from the south,
And it sure has been a cold, cold winter,
And the light of love is all burned out.

And it sure has been a hard, hard winter,
And my feet been draggin' 'cross the ground,
And I hope it's gonna be a long, hot summer,
And the light of love will be burning bright.

And it sure has been a cold, cold winter,
And my feet been draggin' 'cross the ground,
And the fields have all been brown and barren,
And the springtime takes a long way around.

Hi Folks,
Thanks for all the c & c's on 'The Sun Does Rise II', they are very much appreciated, especially with the difficulties people have had recently with the site. (Am I the only one still struggling?)

Last Thursday, Scotty (stephenscott) and I went to the Mallyan Spout waterfall near Goathland and were shocked at the damage caused to the footpath by the winter weather. This image is of West Beck immediately below the waterfall and you maybe able to make out the damaged wooden walkway in the background, which has been virtually destroyed by a landslip. The song lyrics are selected verses from 'Winter' by The Rolling Stones, who were, and possibly still are, the greatest rock 'n' roll band in the world. The image is dedicated to another Steve, who knows the light of love will always be burning bright in Farndale.

We are still getting the odd flurry of snow here and very hard frosts too. As the man said, it sure has been a hard, hard winter. Have a great evening.
Dave

You've made a good job of this one Dave, now go back with your spade and tidy up the steps and debris.I'm sure you would enjoy that.
