Fuertoventura Sunrise

By DaveRyder

The link above has the unedited version.

I've straightened, removed a street light to the right, a couple of lens flares and slightly altered contract sharpening etc to bring out the sky a little more.

Taken with a Lumix LX15 1" sensor camera with large file jpeg output.
I'm surprised at the performance of the camera as I'd not bought it as a travel companion, more an around the house bright lens unit.
I was only carrying it as we'd been to this resort previously, but a sunrise like this begs to be taken.

After processing your thoughts on the (my) final output on this one be be appreciated.
I did remove the wifi ariel to the left but actually felt it better left in.
I've also kept the buildings in silhouette, although some detail can be drawn out.

Over to you for comment, and thanks in advance.

Its a very nice result Dave.

I read the description quickly and misread it as you removed your wife from the roof, - but now I get it!

Keeping the silhouettes, I would use lens correction to straighten the leaning building, - a very slight increase in exposure (not where there are silhouettes) and the result is in the mod. The lens correction necessitated a crop. Assuming as always thaw AWB will always try to reduce red, Ive also warmed it overall.

Thanks Willie - lens correction didn't occur. Do like your mod. Smile

Just how much to alter tones is a matter of taste, largely. The lens correction works well, though - you may not spot that it's needed, but once yo usee the result, you'll be sold.

Nothing to add...

Much improved on your original, and Willie's mod just goes that extra step - small tweeks and that's often all that's needed.

It's sometimes difficult to determine what's requiored, and coming back to an image after a day does help, in the absence of anyone else to cast their eye over it.

The warmer mod doesn't work for me and as John says, I think your edited version and crop works well Dave.
Yes there is a need for lens correction but is it really noticeable and I like how the trees rise to the rh edge which is lost with the lens correction
