Fairy Wren - Breeding Male

By Davesumner
This is the long awaited male Fairy Wren, the males that are mating turn this bright blue. There are differing amounts of blue from the Fairy Wren which has just a small amount to the Splendid Fairy Wren which is almost all blue.

This one was shot whilst visiting a wildlife park but it is a wild bird. Interestingly you can see where the termites have eaten the tree that was used to make this fence post.

Hope you like it and thanks in advance for looking

Dave
