Moondog Rehearsal J1

By david_h
John at rehearsals this evening working on the sound of his new band Moondog. They are preparing for their first gig in September.
They cranked up the Marshalls and I cranked up my Elinchroms. It was the first time I have used both heads at once. I am pleased with the results but all C & C's welcome as always.

Good shot. I like John's expression. It is very good idea with this thing that the guitarists use when playing (I don't know the word in english) in his mouth. It is very typically for the guitarists to keep these things in such a way.
I was not shure about the guitar. I thought that it will be good the guitar to take more part in the picture but finaly decided that you had taken the right decision. When you put more things on the picture the face with this thing in the mouth and the expression will become smaller and will lose the accent.
There is very nice contrast between his face and the black background in upper left corner. I think it will be good if you darken even make black and the upper right part of the background.

Many thanks for your helpful comments Jivko.
It is called a Plectrum, that John has in his mouth.

Cheers, David
Emmm, I think this has b&w written all over it. Nothing wrong with the colour though - excellent portrait.

Yes I agree. You do have an eye for good black and white stuff.

All the best
Paul
