A quick view of DAVID LYDIATE's recent activity.

  • Rubens Barrichello

The position of the people frames the image, I like how they have been captured taking photographs of the subject matter, as this sums up the atmosphere surrounding the persons presence. The subject matter is captured very candidly signing an autograph, which is natural. I also think the light picks out the subject well, on his hair and forid.

Like the concept, works well, very symbolic, with regard to your description.

  • strolling on the roof

I like how the lines draw your attention to the main subject matter, a technique which has been perfectly executed in black and white. Other elements on the right draw your eye to the main subject matter, and of course the fact that it is in mono people are not distracted by these elements, due to the absence of colour. The main subject also adds scale to the image, alongside the bigger elements. The clouds add depth and a delicate touch of drama . I find the mid tones in the image very calming which adds to the atmosphere. The picture could be described as a window of life showing the old and the young.

  • The Player

The circular presentation, makes this image timeless and the communication from the clothes & instrument makes this photograph nostalgic.

  • red sand

The rippled shapes in the sand lead the eye into the frame. The different heights in the image add scale. Overall an impressive picture, very evocative, which captures the time of day perfectly, mainly due to the sunset.
