The Icing On The Cake

By DAVID LYDIATE
Written 1st Oct
Taken on compact, was not sure to upload it anyway, but felt it summed up mood of celebration. It was as one person has said a snap, and the last quick snap on the reel at that. This was a crop from the original print, all constructive comments welcome, thank you.

nice candid shot of what I presume to be a family gathering.

as a family snap shot this is ok, but the focus is on the wrong person the attention is drawn to the small child in white and the man holding the cake. The woman with the 40 badge on is out of focus and so is less attention grabbing. Also your blacks are very grey they could do with a bit of a push to make them darker.

To help I'd crop out the head in the foreground on the left, this will leave part of the man with cake and (more importantly) it will centre the woman and help make her the focus of attention.

A nice candid shot, I agree with the comments on the cropping, but as a quick snap it is pleasant.
