Lovely lighting and colour. I think it would benefit from the removal of that dark tree that intrudes into the pictures at bottom left - it draws the eye too much.

Quite outstanding. The use of layers and lines within the pic is just lovely. Agree with absurd about the tree.

This is just beautiful! I find the 100-400 makes a great landscape lens and this is a fine example of what it can do. I hope you enjoyed the moment - it looks magical.

Ace shot. Agree about the lower left tree but hey we are being terribly picky here. Well done.

Very nice. Love the colours. What's the size of the tree in the middle background? It must be huge. click

Many thanks to you all for your very kind comments. For those that were interested the exposure was 1/1000 at f/5.6 - deliberately fast because my tripod was on soft ground and I wanted to keep the detail in the trees and DOF wasn't going to be an issue with the subject so far away (600 metres). I fully expected comments on the dark tree in the bottom left, I kept it in on the version posted but have cropped/cloned it out on a printed version.
Looks supurb printed on fine art paper. This image won one of the 3 selector's awards in the 2003 East Anglian Federation annual exhibition and went forward to represent the EAF in the PAGB.
