Behind The Line

By davidhu
Taken a couple of weeks ago on a WW1 battlefield tour in Northern France. A stark line of trees on the Lorette spur framing the memorial to General Maistre, a commander in the French Army. A cold and misty morning so I've added a blue tint to accentuate the conditions.

Thanks for looking

Really like this one although due to the statue being rather small not sure if it actually adds anything without it's significance being explained - maybe wrong. However with or without its really good

We visited Notre Dame de Lorette cemetery but didn't walk as far as this. I like the toning you've added, it gives a cold sadness.
Every spur of land in this part of France, and its view, has significance...

Atmospheric shot, beautifully taken, as Bill says, 'emotive'

Your application of the subtle blue toning Dave, has made this quite special. It really makes all the difference to the atmospherics... Dave

The toning really adds to the bleakness of this image Dave.
