Angels and Bones

Well I got to share this..
I went to put flowers on Jay's fathers grave today. To get there in the winter you have to walk. Well let me tell you it isn't just a walk it is a climb. I parked the my Blazer down at the bottom of the mountain and start my adventure up this mountain.. I would like to point out so you get the feel of the story.. there are banks which are small, there are hills which is a dozed out section of land in the side of the mountain to build a home like we have here.. on solid rock you could say.. then there are mountains that are never ending straight up and hope for a flat section somewhere to rest before the continued straight up. Well like most family cemetery's around here they are back in the mountains.. to the point of back when mom was young they hooked you to a mule and drug you up the mountain.. This one isn't that steep or at least not these days ... OK so off I go the ground covered in leaves, mud, nuts that had fallen like a war zone on a chipmunk .. there are ruts that are there for the summer time if weather premitts to travel if you 4 wheel drive. Which I do.. but that didn't but a dent into todays travels.. soon as i pulled over to the site at the bottom of the hill the wheels sank up... back to the drama of the day.. I go up this mountain with my poor boots sinking to the hub and everytime I lifted my foot it made a slush sound ( pop pop pop) lol so I made it up to the first flat and was going to rest and looked up and thought if I stop now I am going back down so off I went on up .. I had the neck of my shirt pulled to cover my mouth just to keep my breath cause the wind was howling down the mountain and making the climb so cold.. still pop pop pop finally I see the metal gate swing back and forth as the wind takes it... So I get the gate and enter into the main part now.. still got to climb up and over to where I need to be.. I get there and clean everything up such as limbs/twigs and such.. and fix the flowers and take a few minuets to rest too.
I look over to the right to see an angel that I noticed at the gate but didn't look hard at .. but now I am almost face to face with it.. It is like 5 ft tall... and People I know I should say it but it was the most UGLY thing I had seen in my life.. My first thought was did the family of that person do that to ward off evil spirits... aint never in all my days seen anything like it... and well if they could have afforded that.. they could of at least purchased a pretty one... Come ON !Whoever heard of a Ugly angel ... Well somebody did and they bought it!!
Now I know beauty is in the eyes of the beholder... but come on.... even they had to notice that... So I thought that was enough to give me the gitters.. wish I'd had a camera just so you know what I am talking about. So I go back down to the gate and still the wind is howling and the gate is swinging toward me and I stop it and step out .. Now I didn't notice anything strange coming up the mountain or when I reach the gate. As soon as I step out I look down at my feet for whatever reason.. there was a jaw bone and a bone like that of a arm/leg laying there. So I kicked the jaw bone over and there isn't any teeth so not sure what it was.. I thought of all places for animal bones to be that wasn't what I wanted to see after the angel.. so needless to say getting out of the mountain wasn't nearly as hard as getting up the mountain.. this girl can still move when she needs too... I didn't even want to know what else could be up there.. Wild animals not a worry.. I was pop pop popping down the road and if I lost my boots so be it I wasn't going back... It was like holloween without treats... Just glad to be back home shewww LOL
