St. Michaels Mount

By johnalexander
Last light on St. Michael's Mount
Is the path to bright, does it distract from St. Michaels?

Beautiful colour and light. In my opinion there is a little too much path in the foreground. Try cropping the bottom of the image by 1/4 to1/3 to give a panorama syle which I think would suite the shot better.

The path is a little too bright in my opinion, the eye is drawn down more towards it than St. Michael's.

Have to agree, cropping the bottom of the image would definitely look better.
Otherwise no complaints, a really beautiful, interesting shot. Great composition and colours.

Definitely leave the path in for me.... it does a great job of leading the eye to the mount. Also, I don't think the path is too bright as the light on the mount itself draws the eye to the centre of the photo.

All in all a great shot - leave it as it is and stop worrying !Wink

Yup, as mentioned, this is shouting out...PANO

I'd crop a tad off the top and take the bottom up so you lose about a quarter of the existing frame. Then, IMHO, its spot on.

Great shot, would love to see a mod with the above mentioned crop, but think the original has a lot of charm. Ann

its a superb shot with beautiful colours, but i must admit the first place my eyes rest on is the path in foreground, pano crop would finish this shot of nicely Smile

first time ive had a go at a mod of someone elses picture , im quite new to photography myself but this is how i would do it with less path distracting you from the rest of the image. But lovely colours and image.

Yep, path a bit bright, but don't get rid of it, just tone it down a bit if you can

I like this as it is, but would be interested to see the path more central in the image just to see the difference of lead in. Great shot, took some timing!!
