Brent goose

Taken at the same time as the shot of the Teal. I had gone to farlington Marshes, the nearest nature reserve to me, to get a shot or two of the geese before they returned to their breeding grounds in N Russia, and although I got lots of flight shots, this one appealed to me most. The geese breathe every 3 or 5 wing beats, and this shows a breath being taken. They can flyfor days without a break; remarkable creatures, especially when you realise they feed on eel grass and ordinary grass.
