Paris in Vegas

By DeanH
This is one of the shots taken on our recent trip to Vegas.

18mm at F/13 1.5 sec exposure.

I used ISO800 to get the same lighting from a 2-3sec exp at ISO200 due to not having my tripod available.

No tripod available so used a nearby post to lean against hence the slightly distracting tree in shot.

Tough shot to get without a tripod, but as you say, the tree does it no favours. I'd crop off the road at the bottom as well as its just empty, and you need to correct the sloping buildings. Aside from that, the general thought is that these shots look better when there's some colour still left in the sky, and in this case, it would have improved it.

fair points Duncan thanks. Yep colour in the sky would have been nice, i left the road in to add a bit of colour that the black sky meant was missing. I'lltake a look at rectifying the buildings.

I agree, I think because colour is reflected in the road, it looks better left in

ps - having recently just come back from Vegas I realise now how difficult it would be to get this shot with no tree in it as the other side of the road has them alll down the side of the pavement. Also, having seen the traffic, am amazed you managed to get the road empty!
