Interesting development. I have to say that I feel the large butterfly spoils the image, too distracting.
I don't know if you intended the book to look larger by using shorter length of lens but for me his feet are to intrusive being so big. Maybe you could develop the theme with the boy sitting at a table, feet under, book on top wearing a plain shirt.
Still a lovely image,
Ian

Thanks Ian, the shot itself was really a grab shot as my son was sat reading a story from an empty book, so unforunately I couldn't get him changed into different clothes for it, and I agree with your point about the shoe's, I did think about cropping them out, but when I tried I couldn't get the composition to look right, but I really appreciate your critique it's good to know where it can be improved and other people's view's on my images so thank you

Much better. Youve done a very good job getting the images and text layered and shaped. I prefer V2, as I tend to agree with Ian about the large Bfly, - in V2 its much more subdued.
While I was doing a mod to make it smaller and reduce opacity, I had an idea that a mono treatment might work well, - so thats what I loaded, - its an idea, and I like it, - perhaps another option?

Thanks Willie, Mono does work better, and I agree about the butterfly the more I look at it, was just being a bit over ambitious with it I think, But I do like the butterfly on your mod its more discreet yet adds to the image. The thing bothering me about my image now is his shoes, and Ian mentioned it above, to me it seems like he has no legs and the shoes are stuck to the end of book, the more I look at it the more I notice it, but your mod kind of softens that effect a little it doesn't seem to stand out as much as it does in the colour versions

I've just tried again with a cropped version of this and am slightly happier with it, I really like his expression in this one so really want this image to work, if anyone gets chance to look could you please let me know what you think of the cropped versions 3 and 4, I decided to leave out the extra butterfy thanks
