A lovely portrait. The tight framing works well, and the addition of a textured background in post processing looks natural so well done there.
Being in close has helped give some blur whilst the focus has kept the eyes sharp. Desaturating the bright colours also helps keep attention where it is meant to be.
My only niggle, and it is a slight one, is that I would like to see just a bit more light in the eyes (especially Daniels's left eye).
A well taken portrait.

Its a gorgeous shot. Minor suggestions really, and a different treatment in the two mods.
The eyes can be both a little sharper, and a little brighter. I used the shadow tool in CS4, - you can also use levels and a layer mask.
My personal preference is for a skin tone slightly less red, - though theres nothing at all wrong with the colour balance as loaded.
Ive done these adjustments in mod1. Mod2 is simply a small catchlight in the left eye, and a small amount of diffuse glow to soften.
You should be happy with this, - especially with a little lightening of the eyes. You could try a different coloured background if you want to experiment, - but a very nice piece of work.
