Thanks everyone. Louise, I don't have a tripod (I walk long distances) so I try to find a wall or a fence to sit the camera on.

Great image. I travel from England 4 times a year to Derry. I have only taken graffiti shots and murals. You have shown me the other side of Derry. I will take my time to look at the nice shapes of the architechture and skyline on my next visit. Nicely taken.
P.S. I take most of my shots on a compact or bridge too.

Great atmospheric image, love the light of the moon and the lead in to the laneway... timeless too - other than the street light...

If i was trying to find fault you could have cropped the top a wee bit more, maybe lose a bit of the dead space above the lit clouds to pull you in a bit more to whats happening on the ground... buts that just me being difficult!

I was tempted to do just that, Derry, but I pulled back at the last moment - I couldn't delete the gateway to the clear, cold night sky.

By the way, on the subject of your difficultness, when you were a child, were you disruptive at school?
