Taken on the fly

By Dee_licious1
Still at Coombe Abbey (I love that place), pic taken last weekend.

As we were walking down to the lake we could see some swans flying in, we quickend the pace and noticed that they turned back over the Abbey (Hotel) giving us just enough time to reach the bridge and take position. This was one of two shots I was pleased with. As you can see sun was still low in the sky (approx 9.30am) and lit up the underside nicely.

I had some work to do in CS3, selecting the swan, inverting selection and slightly blurring the background, lifted the swan slightly more than in original shot by using shadows/highlights and did curves.

Any suggestions to help improve my photography and post production would be gratefuly received.

Thanks everyone, the background is the one thing that dissapoints me with this but I tried it against black and that didn't really work for me either.

Dee another great shot, but be careful as when ya look closer the post work is visible around the neck, I think try closer selection possibly freehand to make sure the swan is all you select, I'm envious of the overall picture though well done Wink
