  • Violin

    The main thing, though, is that the EXIF data records f/8, and the depth of field looks more like f/2.8... Am I right in thinking that the limited depth of field is a result of processing, rather than camerawork?

    No the shallow depth of field was as shot, as I was very close to the violin, f8 was set for the studio lights.
    I don't know what the banding is it shows after processing but only occasionally and only recently I need to play with it in the near future

    Unique view point, dead centre, from white to black,detail in the shadows whats to critique. to think if it hadn't rained you would have missed the shot

    soft and easy on the eye. the diagonal and the spot on eye focus make the image. Well captured

    The backlight or rim light is too harsh as it has burnt out a lot of her hair and thumb. That was the difference with film what you shot was what you got(unless you had a polaroid back) as with digital one shot, look at the screen and modify.
    Love the grain that the film has given

  • Just called by to say hello and look at your stunning Pf. Although the forals are great,just trying to get my head round them, I love your earlier self potraits the mono's are really good.

  • Thanks for the recent comments much appreciated as stated in the pm I'm a fan of this Pf just never got round to commenting. My fave is Its a hard life closely followed by suprise. Must get down to Marwell some time looks like an excellent zoo.

  • Had time to do your PF justice where do I start love the big cats but my fav has to be Fox cub 30/07/06 its just so simple and loving Never really been into bird photography but the more I look a Pf's like your's the more I know I'm going to have to give it a try.

  • Just spending a little time looking a Pf's and came across this fantastic one. My favorite image has to be black rock dunes just for the texutres and sereninty is just cries out mono.

  • This is the start of a stunning Pf. Your work is honest and gritty I like the way you try different angles on the same image and it works.
    The image is in your mind the capture is at your finger tips.
