Bow Fiddle Rock 2

By den12386
Hi everyone. I uploaded a pic from the same shoot yesterday but have now managed to process the image better to balance the sky and bring the colours out more. I took the shot using a 0.6 grad filter but could not get a good balance with the sky being bright to the left so I used two shots at different exposures from the raw files I took and used Photomatix to do a two shot hdr and this is the result. I am much happier with this one than yesterdays. What do you guys think?.............Den

I think this one has the edge over yesterdays. A teeny eeeny bit on the grundgy side for me. (isn't photomatix addictive???) Colour balance is better on this one and you have far more detail in your sky. Nice one.

I like this one, you do have a slight halo in the sky around the rock which would be easy to adjust. If you open the finished HDR in PS then add the processed pre-HDR sky file in as a layer you could do a simple masking blend on the sky layer merging it into the ground layer below, use a mask to paint around the edge of your rocks on the horizon to take away the halo.

This will leave the bottom half of the file as an HDR but the sky as a straight processed file. You could also add selective curves to certain areas and selective sharpening to the foreground.

All said though, i'd be very happy with the image if i'd shot it.
