The Land's End Experience

By Dennis_Bromage
Just back from another week long trip south, this time to West Cornwall but again plagued by either blank white or empty blue skies and lots of haze Sad Anyway enough of the moaning, it was great holiday weather after all and after getting up at 4am every morning and also going out several evenings I finally got about 1 min of glorious light at Land's End Smile

I wish I could say this images was planned but it wasn't, I was on the other side of the headland photographing the cliffs in the other direction. It was only when the sun dipped into a bank of cloud that I popped my head over the top and realised it was about to reappear for one final time through this slot in the clouds. I'd scoped out this spot earlier in the evening and hoped the sun might line up with the arch in Enys Dodnan but I had to literally run over the headland and round the corner arriving just as the sun emerged and only had about a minute to fire off a couple of exposures before it was all over. Consequently the composition is more rushed than I would like. Anyway this is what I managed and I'm not entirely displeased with it Smile

Thanks for looking

Hi Lorn. No all the dawn vigils were fruitless unfortunately but it was nice to be out most mornings, seeing the world wake up on my own...

This was sunset on my second last night Smile

It was a really nice holiday and the weather was great, just too good for photography...
