Northfleet Docks Chapter 3

By derekhansen
Third and last set of images from Sunday evening by the Thames. My ideal image would be a combination of the 2 variations the capstan in the foreground with the cranes at the distance of the second image. Let me know which you prefer. Comment and critiscism is welcome. Thanks for looking.

Both versions look good Derek, but like you I think I would prefer a combination of the two. I really like the fg and lead in of V1 but the slighter darker colours and contrast of V2.

Overall the effect is terrific but there's something odd going on between the chains which doesn't match the reflection in the sea. It might be mist of course but it looks too delineated ..

Otherwise it's a cracker ...

Definite Number 1 for me. I see what you mean about a combination of the two though. Love the exposure to the clouds.

I know exactly what you mean Suzanne. The slow shutter speed has turned the river 'milky' so that might be contributing. I didnt touch the chain or river in post production ( apart from general levels and contrast adjustment ) so am at a loss to explain. Derek
