You're getting slightly better at re-sizing now, Derek, well done.
Perhaps some information on lighting techniques would have been useful in the description to help us little people who are learning.
Impressive portrait. Compared to your good looks though, he seems to have drawn the short straw. Smile

The master returns. Incisive and ground-breaking work as always.

I can see your portrait skills would be sought after in the corporate world - who wouldn't be pleased with something like this on the boardroom wall.

Cheers Suzi.

I treat a face like a landscape.

If this shot doesn't get me one of those Readers Choice Awards I don't know what will.

As regards my lighting technique. The lighting comes out of the top of the camera when the shutter is pressed. The advantage of this is consistent and reliable lighting every time.

I have a large number photos of myself so strikingly similar to this that I'm convinced Keith took it himself with a Kodak Easyshare CX4300 at arms length. Nice red-eye avoidance technique though mate I take my hat off to you.

btw I went to a wedding recently where instead of an official photographer we had a disposable camera with instructions on each table which they collected at the end. Nice idea except I don't think they actually meant decolletage because none of the pictures I took of the bride's mother got into the album.

You look like Keith! I thought he was a one off.

Nah. Only joking. He is a one off. But you look just like Gary Glitter.

Thank you so much for taking the trouble to explain your lighting technique - will try this immediately and hopefully my pathetic little pictures will improve now. Smile

Disappointed that you still require 24 more people to come along to give you the RC. There are not nearly enough truly discerning people on this site who can recognise really talented portrait photography.
