I am also quite worried about the third.. coz there isn't anything else to be shaved on what is visible..

Quote:Great shot !!.....well detailed 'portrait' !......wonder what the leg-span is ??.Smile

I didn't get to measure the leg span, but the length of the whole creature must be around 6-7 cm, so, it's quite big Tongue

Quote:The viewpoint you've taken this from is brilliant, and that sinister figure at the front of the car is excellent. I'd liked to have seen just something in sharp focus, even if it was something tiny that the eye could use as a starting point, like a spoke of the closest wheel, and then explore out into the rest of the shapes and textures. I know you're going for the deliberate unfocussed look (at least I presume so, looking at your tags) but my eyesight's bad enough already! Having said that it's a different view of an everyday subject, so thumbs up for that one Smile

Thank you for your nice words, they're much appreciated.
Of course it wasn't a deliberate unfocussed, I was going for a tiny sharp focus wherever, but it didn't happen. That's because I didn't looked through the camera (I took the shot as I was walking with my camera on my waist and I ducked a bit). And the lens is an old 2.8 28mm which doesn't of course autofocus on my dslr. So, to sum up, I didn't manually focus, the camera didn't autofocus and I ended up with this...

Quote:A really interesting POV and great up use of DOF. I love this image. Unfortunately I have already given my user award to an equally deserving shot but if this had been posted first I would have awarded it here.

Quote:An unusual subject and one which has interest. However unfortunately there is a lot of detail lost due to over exposure. Try bracketting to compensate for this, and I guarantee you won't have many or any more problems with over exposure.

    Cheers for the constructive words!
I think I over-edited really, I'll post the original one tomorrow probably, the highlights are much LESS exposed really. I don't know why I highlighted them more. I took a couple of shots with different speed, and I prefered this one. I'm using manual mode for the aperture and the speed. I don't mess with the meter, it's always at 0.0 unless I really need to change it. I'll probably do next time, experiment with the bracketing thing, messing around with the meter, and not the speed or aperture.
    Thanks again!
