Never Failing

Hi all. Had a break at the composition but back at them now and this is the latest one.

Squadron 98 is flying over France in 1942 on a dangerous mission. They are bombing a weapons factory in Northern France. They have done there bombing run and are now flying home. One aircraft has had a canon strike on the engine and has stopped working and is running on one engine. These B-25s are in the RAF in 98 Squadron. The name of the photo is the motto of the Squadron 'Never Failing'.

The Squadron was first formed in August 1917 to March 1919 and then was disbanded. It was reformed in 1936 and and disbanded in 1941 and was reformed in 1942 and disbanded again in 1957 and reformed for a final time in 1959 and is now disbanded in 1976 and is not around any more. The Squadron flew lots of different aircraft they flew
Airco DH.9
Hawker Hind
Fairey Battle
B-25 Mitchell
de Havilland Mosquito
de Havilland Vampire
de Havilland Venom
and Hunter.

Aircraft from Duxford air show and back ground from England.

Pretty neat work Connor Smile

My only slight niggle, is that they are flying in perfect formation with wings level. Perhaps it would look even more realistic if they were tilted a little differently from each other, as I'm sure they wouldn't have flown such smooth tracks during wartime, to make life difficult for enemy gunners.

Like the history too and the mono is good but a vignette would make it even more authentic.
Keep up the good work!
Cheers, Goggz

Very accomplished Connor, if I was nit picking they didnt have tramlines in crops of wheat until the 1970's but their absence here would spoil the composition of your picture!
