Osprey soaring

By dewie
Hi all,

This is my first shot for a long time. It was taken at the fantastic reserve that is Rutland Water.

Hope you like it!

Good detail on the feathers, focus a bit soft, but far to much sky, I think a crop would work wonders, these are so difficult to photograph flying, well done!

It was a long way away - if I cropped it it would become even softer so I thought that I would leave some sky in to show it in the sky.

A beautiful bird which you did well to capture. I do love ospreys (as you know!) Smile I like the way you've left the sky in, gives much more perspective and proportion as to how small he was compared to the sky.

Nice shot. I quite like the space in the sky too, however I think there's not enough contrast/detail in the bird for me - as Trev said, it's a little bit soft. In my opinion, maybe adding some clouds at the top of the photo would help with this. Otherwise, I think the bird just needs a little bit of Photoshop treatment to really make it stand out. Smile
