23 Jun 2008 1:48PM Views : 378 Unique : 290Today Susie and I went to the hospital for another check up as she is now nine days late!
She bounced in and I sat in horror in the Accident and Emergency room ..apparantly that is where all the midwives hang out, but I wasn't impressed as there were all sorts of injuries laid out around me with sick bowls etc so I decided to wait in the foyer!
Half an hour later Susie bounced out again..she really does look as though she is bouncing.
The midwife could actually feel the babies head and she is 2cm dilated already...sorry , probably too much information for any men who stray this way!
She was given a sweep..they didn't do that in my day! Told to drink a glass of wine and sniff some Clarysage which we then went and bought. She is going to be induced on Saturday if nothing has happened by then but the midwife was amazed that she wasn't in labour already.
So..only a few days to go now and we are all so excited, especially as she doesn't know whether it is a girl or a boy !
This afternoon she has gone swimming....and I am sitting by my mobile !

With Rachel I felt I was in labour, so went into hospital. A 12 year old doctor looked down his nose at me and said "Are you sure you're in labour?" He then turned and smirked at the midwife "She'll be hours yet!!!"...............Rachel arrived less then 2 hours later - he'd gone home!!!!
Well in my day I had a sweep!!
Didn't do any good mind you. I was told that it was all to do with being the third baby. don't know why but they are supposed to be the ones that play up getting started.
So to prove me wrong this is probably not the third baby!!

I bet you are all glad it is over ? and a new chapter in her life starts . What a big babt for a tiny girl . Yes make her rest . As for you toung lady . See you have something in your tummy before you go to bed a small sandwich or a bowl of cereal and then a drink of warm milk . That seems to settle me and these days I sleep at least 7 hours which is wonderful . Clean bed linen , the perfume of Lavender oil and an open window also helps . xxx
