The Saloon at Coleton Fishacre

By DicksPics
Today's images were taken in The Saloon at Coleton Fishacre, a National Trust property in Devon and once home to the D'Oyly Carte family.

The Saloon certainly has a 'wow' factor is a very welcoming and homely room for visitors to enter as can be seen in the lead image.

The hallway and stairs can be seen through the door above the curved steps in V1.

V2 and V3 show the Bluthner rosewood grand piano which dates from 1895/96 which, as can be seen in V4, I was invited to and privileged to play - after being volunteered by my good friend Richard who is standing in the background!Smile

The beautiful wooden floor and steps are made of Indian Gurjan wood which, apparently, is used in the production of plywood.

The final version looks up at the house from one of the lawns - the Saloon is on the ground floor of the left hand wing and opens out onto the terrace which overlooks the gardens.

Many thanks to Jeff(kojack) and Len(Len1950) for their treasured awards for my 'Upstairs & Downstairs' upload and for all votes and encouraging comments - much appreciated, as always.

Beautiful interiors Richard . Love the pianist in the version what tune was it? I once went to a National Trust place and was made to sit on the chase-lounge and my husband was made to kneel before me and admire me. She was a bit crazy the room steward but I had a laugh. Debs

When I said you could take the photographs of my house in readiness for me putting it on the market, I didn't mean for you to put them on EPZ

Love the depth and the warmth of thes images
