    I preferred Guadeloupe. Smile

  • Choose Your Windmill Son

I'd rather see windfarms than coal fired power stations Roy.

  • Road to Nowhere

You really should. Mind you I have hardly done anything at all recently. I don't seem to have the time, other than when on holiday.

Better late than never! Haven't spotted this one before. We need to sort out a photo shoot somewhere soon.

My favourite image of the day.

  • Watch out...Watch out ...

Excellent shot. I'm hopeless at getting bird action shots.

  • man and his horse

I don't know if the weather was dull when you took this but it looks quite flat. Have you tried playing with the exposure and colour temperature? You may be surprised at how much you can make it jump out without looking over-processed.

  • Wray Castle and grounds, in autumn

    Cracking reflections. Smile

  • It's a waiting game

A good gritty image with well used limited depth of field. The almost central positioning of the couple give a feeling of solitude but as if something is about to happen.

    Excellent stuff.

  • Sparrow

Well done getting down to its level. This may benefit from a little more sharpening and lifting of the shadows (or of course it could be just my eyes/monitor).

  • Sandbanks Marker

This is (to paraphrase a well known saying) a photo of 2 halves. The bottom 2/3 has lovely restful tones and good light but I find the ribbed effect in the clouds grabs the eye and detracts from the overall effect because it seems at odds with the sea. I'm not sure what has caused it (were they actually like that), but it may be worth experimenting with a healing brush or something to see whether the result adds anything to the image.

  • Enchanted Evening

One of those shots which leads you in forever. Lovely light, good foreground interest and great gradually fading distant hills.

  • Morpeth - a walk along the riverside 2

A good composition but for me it is just a smidgen over-processed. If it is an HDR it would be worth knocking down the strength a little.

Of course this is a personal opinion and if you like it as it is that's what matters. Smile

Excellent lighting and composition with just the right amount of water blur.

  • Silly Sunday: Sassy, shaved

I like the contrast between the sign and where she is looking, so may stories to imagine.

  • Chl÷e

Lovely framing and light. Were you using a ring flash? There is a circular effect around her pupils which grabs the attention and in my opinion detracts from the photo. You could probably get rid of it with some careful healing brush work. Other than that a really nice shot of a good looking young lady.

  • Coquet Sunset

Lovely pastel colours and calm water in this long exposure. You could possibly make it even stronger by cropping just to the right of the rightmost cloud halfway up the sky.

    • 2 Oct 2016 2:49PM
  • Pretty Orange

I like the composition and, as you say, the orange is pretty. Maybe worth upping the exposure or the mid-tones to make the orange pop a bit.

  • Ms Magellan - Eidfjord

I like the composition but the HDR processing is too strong for my liking. It looks as if you had quite a dull day and the strength of the HDR has left the ship looking grubby, plus there is a very noticable halo on the boundary between mountains and sky.

Try increasing the exposure a little and using the colour picker white balance tool to help bring the white of the ship out better.

Alternatively, if this was the effect you were after you have achieved it and it's just not my personal tastes. Smile

Looks like the cover of a horror story. Smile

    Good composition and interesting treatment.

  • Incy Wincy....

Love the title. Where was the light coming from, it almost looks like flash? It may be worth having a play with the tone curve on spidey, see if you can bring out a little more of the markings. Good shot though.

  • Island in the mist

My kind of shot. Just level it up a little and hang it on your wall.

  • Wild Thang

I'm not sure how you have captured/processed this but you have managed an almost super-realistic feel which I would love to be able to emulate.

Best shot I've seen so far today.
