Yup, I do like this, very very similar to mine taken from the same spot. Your sky to the right is nicer than mine tho and I do like the birds, tho I suspect you have added them, but I don't say that as a criticism, rather I think they add to the shot. The gold feel you've got from the water is much better than the murky brown that it usually is too. All in all a very pleasing shot that shows the majesty of the boat well.

Thanks folks.
Andy it would have been nice but I met Robbie from work and the light was close to going anyway. We went over later and met Anthony for the fireworks.
Ian, thanks for the detailed feedback. I can assure you that the birds have not been added, although I can not take credit for deliberately getting them in frame.
If this is from the same spot as yours were you by any chance the D300 toting tog stood there at 4:30ish? As to the sky, I waited for a reasonably dense cloud to cover the sun to minimise the brightness, then fired off a handheld series for HDR. Are you going to post yours?

Hiya mate, no it wasn't me. I went down at about 12.30 and then over the river to Seacome at about 5.30.
I will be posting mine in the next day or two, I have a few others to go with it and I'll save my evening shot to last as thats my favourite, its very similar to Simon Palmers shot, so I'm chuffed about that.
I think we EPZ togs need to have badges so we can recognise each other...lol
