I've recently joined the 'Back From The Brink' project as a volunteer. The local project is called 'Gems In The Dunes' and focuses on endangered wildlife in our coastal area, including Natterjack Toads, Sand Lizards and Northern Dune Tiger Beetles.

During a recent introductory course I spent the afternoon wandering around Ainsdale Dunes and captured this shot. This is obviously not one of those species mentioned and neither is it endangered, but it is beautiful. It is a member of the Vetch family and is reputed to have got its name because some members of the family have stems so strong they could and would stop the farmer's harrow.

Hope you like it.
