The full picture was a head shot of Oscar, my cat but since the eyes were so startling, I decided to crop the picture down.
It would be interested to read which of the two is the preferable picture when I upload the full one.

The eyes are very striking, but overshadowed by the strong white strip of fur which has no detail within it, which is called burnt-out. This cat has quite a lot of differing markings, two of which are black and white, so your camera will choose which of these two totally contrasting colours to expose for, unless you make the choice for yourself. Exposing for the white, you can adjust the dark areas in editing, but won't be able to adjust a burnt-out area. Also, the eyes need to be a lot sharper. I hope I am not being too negative. You have a beautiful subject to practice on here.
