Wow - what an encounter that must have been. I would give my left arm to be there with you (well, not literally). Have no experience of underwater photography, but I am aware of how difficult it is to photograph sharks so for me that makes this all the more special. I like the lighting on the sharks sides and I also like the composition alot, with the distant shark mirroring the closer one. The only tiny thing that would have improved this, in my view would have been if the tip of the dorsal fin didnt appear to be touching the other shark. Just a tiny bit of water between the two would have been great. But I imagine you just have to take what you can in such situations, and I think youve done a fine job.

Wow nice shot! I didn't realise they had hammerhead sharks in the red sea!

My brother was there just 2 weeks ago. He saw plenty of Rays, Morray Eels and loads of Barracuda. He even got the chance to swim with wild dolphins on one day. He never said anything about sharks though!

I would love to find the time to learn to scuba dive and then invest in a housing for my camera (Not at all cheap!) and get into some serious underwater photography. For now I just make do with a snorkle and a disposable!

My favourite subject! I've only once been this close to a hammerhead - it swam directly over my head from behind, i didn't see it coming - gave me quite a shock as you can probably imagine. i could have reached up and touched it if i wasn't too busy gawping.
my dive buddy was going mental!!
