My Joe

By Dizize
Last night my husband Joe, came home from a day of welding....looked perfect for me to try some black and white imagery....he was quite the cooperative study, once I convinced him not to "pose"....anxious to know what you think!
Thanx in advance for you interest....
Di

**For those of you who have asked about the processing:
Good morning my friends! Ahhh...perhaps afternoon there....
Not sure how to respond to your questions and kind remarks on "My Baby's Blues"....so I hope you see this here...
You are in luck....I have been trying to find my way in navigating the "how too's" of my Corel PSPx2 that I got for Christmas....mostly without success....I am afraid that I don't know what the heck I am doing and probably should not even be on this site...but...I DO recall how I did this shot of my husband...I took a close up...Nikon D-40...18-55 mm @ auto setting....converted to B & W....then I chose the Effects tool, went to texture and I am pretty certain I used "soft plastic"...I may have doubled that part...and there you have it...an accident indeed...but I liked the way it turned out and I am so glad you have also...Many, many thanx for your kind response!
Di

Unusual process used here D but very applicable for the type ofshot which shows Joe after a hard days graft and full of Character...

A fine portrait of a working man. I would like to see the original without the PS work. I think it would make an even better image. It has that very real quality that takes it over the top.

wow! I've seen quite few original photographs on this site; this one is yet anothe one of those that I will remember!

Very nice processing, very nice framing ... and the composition ... just bloody great shot!

what are you going to amaze us with next?

A stunning shot! Great character and mood, and the effect you've used is very good. I think you could use the original on its own as a separate picture without the special effects as its so good.
