Fantastic mood. I like the way the sheep are nearly in silhouette. Definitely mono for me, although I'd maybe try to retain some more of the highlight detail in the snow when doing the conversion.

Actually, the high contrast/blown highlights was entirely Intentional. Retaining the highlights would not have been difficult, but the image just looked too flat and grey to me.

Yes, V1 is certainly my favourite too. I included the colour version mainly for people who hadn't seen the original.
