The Lowry, Salford Quays

This was the first time I'd used my Nikon D7000 for a night shot. I don't often shoot this type of images preferring to capture people events, though this was planned as I waited for an 90 mins for the light to be as I envisaged in my head. My iPhone app told me sunset would be at 21.20. So I arrived early and waited.

Taken with my Nikon D7000 (an upgrade from a D300), 18-200mm 3.5-5.6 VR, held up with a Manfrotto 458B Neotec Pro. No filters.

One of my favourite subjects. Lovely colour and detail but don't wait for what you think is the right light, keep shooting from just before sunset all the way through.

Just so you all know, I had to wait till the lights came on, though, yes, I was shooting from just before sunset all the way through.
