About

Hi, my name is Rod and i'm relatively new too photography. My baby the GX10 was a present too myself (July 07) for giving up smoking (Sept 06 and still not smoking). At the time i was very naive and new nothing about photography other than the fact i wanted to do it. My first outing was Hadrians wall ( 84 miles) and used only the point and shoot mode because i didn\t know an f-stop from a bus stop at the time. I've yet to join a camera club or any courses but have read a little and i think my photography has improved a lot. However, i certainly still consider myself a beginner and the more i learn the more i realise how much there is too learn. Hence criticism and comments are very welcome. Also is it possible too respond to comments/critique in order too thank people does anyone know. if not thanks to anyone leaving comments.

Hi Rod
Have just been browsing through your PF and your "About Me". Cannot believe you class youself as a relative beginner!! I am so impressed by your superb captures, especially the landscapes and waterscapes (something that does not come easily to me!) They are an inspiration to me.
Thank you so much for your kind comment on my PF - I have only been trying to improve my photography since buying my DSLR a year ago, having been a "happy snapper" for years.
Will keep dropping by.
With best wishes

Some great shots and I agree , they should get more attention.

Thanks for the comment on mine. The shot was taken near West Putford, not far from Gnome Place.

Hey Rod. Read your comments on my PF - so kind of you, and from seeing your shots, certainly advices from an expert. Your PF is stunning, I especially like the shots from Lofoten - magical.
Really think they should get more attention -keep it up Smile

Hi Rod, just noticed your comments on my PF; sorry for the delay. No I am not a twitcher, though I do like being out surrounded by nature. I don't understand twitchers mentality; charging around the country just to put a tick in a "seen that bird" box.
Your PF has some wonderful images with cracking landscapes. Oh yes, welcome to epz.

Thanks for your comment on my shot, feedback is always welcome - and this is how I say thank you - to answer your 'about' question - either posting a comment on the pf section, or on a particular shot :o)

I'll be back to have a look at your pf properly, but a quick glance shows that you're definitely past the raw beginner stage...

And well done for giving up the demon ciggies - you'll never regret it
Absolutely stunning photos! Only had a moment to glance through a few of them but really lovely!
