Having recently uploaded a similar in flight shot but of a seagull, I can appreciate how difficult it is to get everything right especially the exposure and shutter speed. You've done exceptionally well here. The detail and lighting are spot on and the presentation/crop all add to make it a very pleasing shot.

Good capture Dougie. It's amazing how they hold their necks straight like that when flying - in the large version you can really see the tendons being strained. Good exposure on this and the swan stands out nicely against the blue sky.
