Bert's New Hat!

By dougv
I thought I might try uploading a People photo for a change.

This fine looking Gentleman is Bert my Father-in-Law sporting his lovely new hat.

Taken at the Yorkshire Air Show at Elvington on 18th August while he was sat relaxing in the car park after lunch.

Hand held shot 190mm 1/250 sec f5.0 ISO 100

Hope you like it.
Comments welcome.

Well I think you should tell your father-in-law his hat looks great on him and he has a lovely smile.
Great photo.

Thanks Jacqui.
Glad you liked it.
He's a very photogenic character.
It's nice to see him smiling as he lost his wife in early July, so we are all rallying round trying to help him get over his sad loss.

Caught a good expression - should have had a plane as a backdrop though, if you could find one that turned up that is Smile

Thanks Caleb.
Yes there was a lack of aircraft this year unfortunately.
I don't think it is purely down to the weather either.
I know that Sally B has been struggling in recent years with the cost of insurance, and I'm sure many others will be the same.

my kinda hat

a splash of fill flash may have helped a little Doug, but I quite like his expression and the moustache is stright from the officer's mess Smile

Sadly Bert has now passed away, so this is my tribute to him.

Excellent shot Doug...sad though...looks so young and fit in the pic.
....I'm 73 and when I think of the last 40 years, gone in a blink...don't say much for the next 7 Smile
