Major Mitchell's cockatoo Bowra QLD

By drbird
Major Mitchell's cockatoos were one of the main reasons to visit Bowra in Qld we were hanging out near the waterhole on a campground for days but only had a glimpsy view of one bird. This looked like to be another day without them so I decided to go for a shower. Not a bad thing to do when you are out in the sun with close to 40 degrees C. Just as the water nicely started to cool me down my wife shouted Mitchells incoming ....So I grab I towel wrap it around me to look half decent and run to the camera....Well running with a wrapped towel seems to be something I am not good in...I arrived quickly at the tripod but the towle was gone an elederly couple close by was laughing their heads of while my wife brought the towel and helped me to not get banned Smile at this place. Not my nicest ecperience but I still think back with joy and like the images.

Great capture, well worth the effort and no doubt embarrassment.

**Chortle** (If only your wife had a camera!!). Beautiful birds, brilliantly caught. I love the colours on their wings.
