I enjoy the slightly see through edges of the petal, almost past it's best. Good view and DoF. My favourite area is when the petals and stem meet; yellow, orange, green, bleeding into each other.

You have retained the detail to perfection. Full marks for exposure and focus.

Black background works a treat - detail is excellent, but what I find most appealing is the transparency of the edges (starting to dry out?).

This is lovely Dave. You can actually see the the ageing detail and textures. I am no expert on light but every detail (to me) looks very well exposed

Beautiful fine detail in the petals, but I'd have prefered to see the front of the flower.

Such beautiful clear detail coming through what a fantastic job. Being a beginner I so often get frustrated at my efforts. Wonderful work you produce.

A beautiful image full of interest. The petal edges a highpoint I think. Tony.

Excellent light and great detail. Possibly you have photographed the back of the flower rather than the front which is slightly unusual....Phil

Fantastic textures captured on the petals, and nice to see an unusual POV. The only thing that I find distracting is the dried brown leaf coming in from the top, I would have removed it, but just IMHO.
Great work.

very well captured for the texture and the colour version is my fav. It makes such a change to see the flower from the underside too and has just as much beauty as the front.

Beautiful image, against the black background the colours look brilliant, and the transparency on the edges of the petals give it a very delicate feel. Nice one!

It is rather sad - however the paper like texture is excellent - lovely pale colours too.

Great on black. I guess your intention to focus on the join between stem and petals. Short DOF means the edges near the top have fallen of focus a little. Good detail otherwise. Paul

Lovely take on this theme; the variety of approaches to this theme is amazing (and inspiring).
