Hey everyone! I'm just a beginner, but I hope to at least be a wildlife photographer for life on the side of any job I have. I have a GE X500 camera, in black, and I rather adore it right now. Not the best camera around, but certainly pretty good. So far I've mainly only been able to add pictures of my cats because the Texas heat seems to make every other creature disappear, but I hope to soon have some more!

Quote:How odd! (well seen). Are the pumps still in use? I don't think I'd want a picnic there!

I think it was quite difficult for you to capture this because of the low light - I suspect you were holding your camera, rather then using a tripod. It still makes a good image though, a real talking point! Smile

They are still in use. Which only made it weirder... But I think that's why too. The lighting was not very good and the use of a tripod would've helped, but I wasn't planning on photographing much that day either! Thank you!

Quote:Never seen anyone putting the hat over his boots whilst I was in the Army. I only knew of a lieutenant who could wear hat, jacket and boots and look fully dressed.

I think the picture has two light zones, the top bright part is too bright I think. It could benefit from some lighting adjustment. I could also have this executed in black and white.

Well, I don't think it's a current practice. It's a thing that used to be done quite a while ago =)

And yeah, the top came out a bit bright. And black and white may look good, but this is just a raw photograph with absolutely nothing edited.

  • Just Chillin'

I like the crispness of the photo, though I agree with Sooty that shooting into the light may not have been the best thing--but it still looks quite good. Beyond that, I can't think of anything else that could be fixed! Nice job!

Quote:A good shot of the bird, do you know what it is?

Well, he's a crow, but the specific type I don't know.
