I think I want her in our church choir. The existing members are melodic, but by no means the sort of people to belt out a tune and get people dancing...

And I quite understand about the ISO. I tend to set things to give myself headroom, which means that when the light is at its best, the EXIF makes it look as if I'm a complete Dobbin who doesn't care about quality. And with a modern camera, it's a no-brainer that this is better than risking 1/4 second when the lights go lower.

Looks like the sort of artist who really captivates her audience!

1600 ISO is my default setting for live gigs indoors, for exactly the reasons you state, Guy. The only time I go lower is when I change to the 35mm f/1.4.
And no, the added grain is not detrimental.

A fabulous follow up, Guy. The mono was well chosen for this one IMHO.

I've only been able to locate one album of hers, the live one, but even that is unavailable at the moment. I do love the feel of her music though which blends nicely with the rich tones and dynamics in her voice.

Its interesting re ISO. Fuji measure ISO at a different standard to the rest of the crowd, and essentially, their ISO 1600 is approximately everyone elses ISO 800. This does help support the belief that Fuji X trans cameras have terrific noise performance, - but its not an apples to apples comparison! Fuji medium format on the other hand, measure ISO to the same standard as everyone else.

Yes Willie, I realise this and to be honest I 'm not into numbers either, I 'm sure one can achive this with any kind of (quality) camera. Cheers, Guy
