Throwing the Rice

By ducatirider
Get ready with the violins for this one: I was asked by friends of mine if I would do their wedding photos; as I have never done a wedding before I reluctantly said yes.

We got really lucky with the weather as the day started grey and wet but the sun came out just as the ceremony finished. Anyway, I took all the photos and was really happy with how it all went, in fact I quite enjoyed it. That was until I got home and inserted the card; nothing. The computer nor the camera could read it. I tried the spare card I used and that worked and the card from the D80 but nothing from the main card.

I have contacted SanDisk who put me on to LC Technology and they believe a pin might have been pushed into the card so are pretty confident that they can recover the photos; fingers crossed!

I've taken 100's and 1000's of photos and have never had a problem; it had to happen with the most important photos I've taken in a long time.

This is one of the photos I took with the D80 that I luckily took with me. Let me know which version you like best. Thanks - Paul

And to cap the perfect weekend off; England go and do their usual and let a silly goal in against the never rains....

Great shot - I like both V1 & 3.

What a thing to happen, I do quite a few weddings per year and have nightmares about something like this happening - hope you are able to get your images, I'll keep my fingers crossed for you.

Like your POV in this one - good details and light too. The mono version works well too.
Hope the you get the images from that card.

Hiya Mate # Weddings! Scary stuff # have done 4 but for family only and passed little hot bricks every time...
You can't exactly resit if it goes horribly wrong so will let this sort of horror pass me by for the future!
Thanks for the comments on todays upload and yes my SAS training did come in Handy although if I go into any more detail would have to silence you immediately!
Take care Bro

Hope you will recover the images from your memory card.

I like the use of ultra wide lens and low angle of capture here. A job well done and I am looking forward to seeing your remaining images when you recover them. I like v1 and v3.

Thank you for your UA Paul.

Nightmare! I couldn't cope with the pressure. Wish you all the luck for the recovery. The Sigma 10-20 is a great lens. This is so different and an innovative angle on a wedding pic. Congrats. Fingers crossed for you. Paul
