I still use film?

Time for an update: I still use film, though. Not vast quantities, but I have a darkroom, and I'm not afraid to use it.

I still use filmÖ

The more so over the next few weeks. My digital camera died this afternoon, and Iím guessing it will take a while to get it sorted.

I have no complaints about it. Itís somewhere around 60 or 70k frames into its life, and thatís a good proportion of even a professional cameraís design life. I just wish it hadnít happened yet.

The economics are simple. Over the getting-on-for-three-years Iíve owned it, thatís been around 3p a frame, even if it is completely deceased.

And so (because Iím on holiday, and I havenít brought any form of digital backup), I am once again the full-time film user that I was until 2004.

Iíve done it before, and Iíll do it again, Iím sure. Itís just that i donít do it often: an occasional exercise for self-discipline. (And yes: i do look at the back of the camera from time to time. SillyÖ)
