Time flies...

Time for an update: I still use film, though. Not vast quantities, but I have a darkroom, and I'm not afraid to use it.

I enjoy every image I take: I hope you'll enjoy looking at them.

Time flies...

I've realised it's nearly a month since I started trying to blog. Time flies: the dayjob engrosses: and there's family stuff (like a wedding last Saturday) to fit in as well. I was lucky with the wedding: just my camera in use - the groom, a nephew, had asked my son to actually take the pictures. They are pretty close, doing long walks with other fitter members of the family. And it's nice to not have the pressure...

And, in between, two or three more purposeful shoots. One with Clover (wonderful to work with, as always), and a second shoot with Zenith.

And the one you will never see: I do production pictures for a local school drama department. And, while I'm all for child protection, it's sad that the way that most councils interpret the rules means that I can't use the pictures on here, or anywhere else, on pain of the drama teachers getting the sack.

As they say is the States, go figure!

But it's rewarding: the school uses the pictures, and there are dozens of my shots up all round the school, including a few giant enlargements. I also get to see young people expressing themselves through drama. It does give hope for the future, because they are talented in ways that do not show in GCSE results.

A quiet week: some holiday, and the chance to develop films from recent activities. For those who don't ever go there, the darkroom is a magical place, beyond the dreams of digital-only photographers.

But that's a tale for another time.
