Hair

By dudler
In a time when most of us have felt a certain lack of control (Dominic Cummings apart*), Mrs D has asserted control over the garden, and over my wayward locks. She's done this (now) by trimming my hair four times since lockdown.

That's why it doesn't look as wild and woolly (TM) as some. And I've been grateful, because as I've grown older, the hair has got thinner, so that my head is more like a dandelion gone to seed than the distinguished and classical bonce of (say) Trevor Eve, or the wild scientist look of an Albert Einstein (or even a Doc Brown). As for a ponytail - dream on.

So just before the fourth trim, I did some selfies (and a final version just after...) The only camera I own with a flip screen is my IR-converted Lumix: I can live with that, because it tends to flatter skin tones.

I believe there may be more lockdown hair coming today.

While you're waiting, there's my blog - today, about Camera Breakages and Near Misses I Have Known.

* I have a very personal reason for my intense dislike of this man's behaviour and lack of integrity. Those who know may understand: others, please accept that there is a reason.

A well documented turn of events, John. Smile
I've managed to get an appointment for the 16th.
Julie was told 1st August. She's fighting that one. (I did cut her fringe though.) Wink
Have a silly scissors Sunday.

All you need is the velvet cap for the classic Rembrandt self-portrait look.
Bill never let me anywhere near him with the scissors. I have the proof...
Our hair was cut yesterday morning, we have had the same lass coming to the house for around 25 years, we were here first customers. We are feeling positively light-headed now.

It strange as photographers we look at every detail except when we look in a mirror...

Great shot that brought an early morning smile to my face. Thanks John.

I cut my hair (and beard) last night.

You could put that lead shot on the door and keep - well, everyone - away.

Thanks for the mod, Roy.

Either extensive PS work, or you have retaliated with your own IR selfie...

I tgought it wad IR before reading your description.
IR seems fiting for these times, an abstract reality. But hair knows no bounds...

My goodness you look so serious. You have the same hair as my husband and I've been cutting his and mine for some time now. The lead made me laugh. I imagine you looking at your models like this and they must think what am I doing wrong. Then the final they think I've got the right pose finally. Great set John.

I get a bit intense when I'm concentrating on the camera the wrong way round and posing at the same time. It works far better without multitasking...

Mine hasn't been cut since well before lockdown. Needless to say, its a bit unruly Sad

Classy. Not to say slightly spooky, as my dear friend and confidant Dame Edna so often says. I am, at this very moment, contemplating running the lawnmower over my own luxuriant tresses.

You look so worried ... and scary in your lead, and yet there was nothing to worry about as Mrs D did a brilliant job and you look so happy about it.
(I have cut mine three times during lockdown so its probably time I braved the barbers)

These are no very flattering selfies, Jhn. I have been rimming my beard for years....keeping it quite neat and short....and lately my hair too.

Who is Dominic Cummings
